Hello! I’m so excited to be a part of Mama Elephant’s 9th anniversary and honored they picked me to show off their amazing new release. I got to make some cards with the super cute Oh Gnomie Tree stamp set. I wanted to make a card with traditional colors, but make it a little more special. So that’s why I decided to stamp with a light ink so I could do some no-line coloring with my Copic Sketch Markers. I carefully selected some colors to match the theme I was going for. One thing was certain though, the gnome hats had to be green so the image looks more like a Christmas tree. It took me hours to complete the tree, but it was a relaxing and very rewarding process and I’m super happy with the result. The gnomes look really whimsical and the soft look is just so sweet. With a white gel pen and my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen I added some sparkly accents. For the eyes I used a Copic Multi Liner.
For the background I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the Cloud Nine die and colored it with some Distress Oxide Inks: Speckled Egg, Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. I splattered some waterdrops on the cardstock and used a paper towel to pick up the excess water. Once it was dry I used clear ink to emboss the sentiment and heat embossed some white embossing powder. Once that was done I adhered the gnomie tree (that I cut out using the matching die) with some thin foam squares. I added a few iridescent stars around the tree to complete the night sky look and added the panel to a white card base.
I also wanted to do something with the Inside Holiday Messages, so I used some Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to stamp one of the sentiments on the inside of my card. And I didn’t stop there! As you might have noticed in the pictures below, I also made a version of the tree with some black ink. That gives the gnomes a totally different look!
I invite you to click on the images to see them more clearly. But don’t stop there, if you scroll down you can read all about the giveaway Mama Elephant is hosting! Good luck!
