For a really long time I’ve been watching YouTube videos about how to print and cut with Cricut. There are so many things I would love to make and a machine like this would certainly come in handy. I started experimenting in Design Space to see what the possibilities were and if I could work with it. And then my husband said to me: just buy it! So last week I took the plunge: I bought my very first Cricut machine. After a lot of concideration I decided to go for the Cricut Maker 3 and I have been printing and cutting non-stop ever since. I started cutting some logo’s for my husband and for myself. Also a bee and the classroom name for the door of my classroom. Then I cut the names of my mother and three sisters out of some permanent white vinyl and attatched them to some cute reusable plastic tumblers (as you can see in the picture below). That is such an easy but wonderful gift! Everyone loved it.
Next I decided I wanted to cut some paper, so yesterday I spent the entire day making large flowers from craft paper/cardstock. I used a pattern from Sweet Red Poppy and also made a couple shapes myself. It was so much fun seeing them come to life and I couldn’t stop until I had a nice rainbow of flowers in different sizes. They will go on the wall in my classroom as soon as the cleaners are done. I’m sure they will brighten up the room, as you can see they already do in the pictures below. I don’t mind having them in my craft room untill I can prep my classroom for next year.
After I ordered the machine and some basic materials, I couldn’t help but look for a Cricut Cutie. Luckily a woman was selling these mint colored ones on Marketplace (Marktplaats). That was such a lucky find! It arrived in the original box as well. I’ve read that they only come in mystery boxes every now and then. I wasn’t sure when that would be and if I would be able to get my hands on them, so I’m glad I found this little guy. Now I already have a pretty color to start the collection 😉
From now on I think I’ll buy a few great additions to my machine from time to time like different tools, extra vinyls and I might even get an EasyPress at some point. So if you ever wonder why I’m not posting as many cards as I used to, well, that’s because I’m probably working on something with my cricut machine!
Have a lovely day!
