Experimenting with Brush Pens

A few months ago I wanted to try writing brush letters. They look amazing and can be used in so many projects. I bought a pen at Hobby Lobby, but it wasn’t flexible enough, so I gave up after a few tries. Last week I spotted these bright colorful pens from Ecoline for a reasonable price and decided to buy them. It took a few practice sheets I found on Pinterest to get the hang of it, but it was a lot of fun to do. A while later I bought some blanc cards and wrote a few words on them. I think they look good enough to give to someone on a certain occasion.

The card with ‘hello’ onĀ  it was written with a ZIG H2O brush (medium tip). It’s not as easy in writing, because the tip isn’t as tight as the Ecoline pens, but if you use the right amount of pressure, you can create thinner and thicker lines for your brush letters. The cool thing about the waterbrush is that you can create an ombre effect and blend different colors.

Practice makes perfect!
